DR ADEMOLA ARAOYE 

DR ADEMOLA ARAOYE is a former Nigerian Foreign Affairs Officer. He retired from the United Nations as Head of Office for the Consolidation of Democratic Governance of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL). He was founding Director of the Institute for Advanced Military Studies (IAMS) at the Kwara State University (KWASU), Molete, Kwara State, Nigeria. He holds a PhD from Claremont Graduate University, California, and is the author of two books: Sources of Conflict in the Post Colonial African State; and Côte d’Ivoire: The conundrum of still wretched of the earth.

DR JAKKIE CILLIERS- Chairman of the Board and Head of African Futures & Innovation @Institute for Security Studies

DR JAKKIE CILLIERS is the founder of the Institute for Security Studies, and served as its executive director until 2015. He now chairs the Board of Trustees, and heads the African Futures and Innovation programme. He is an Extraordinary Professor in the Centre of Human Rights and the Department of Political Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, University of Pretoria. His most recent book, Africa First! Igniting a Growth Revolution, was published in March 2020.

DR SCARLETT CORNELISSEN - Professor @Stellenbosch University

DR SCARLETT CORNELISSEN is Professor in the Department of Political Science at Stellenbosch University, where she lectures on Africa’s international relations. She is a current co-editor of Geopolitics, and a past co-editor of the Review of International Studies. She is a fellow of Harvard University's Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, and a former Leibniz Professor of Leipzig University. Her most recent books include Migration and Agency in a Globalizing World: Afro-Asian Encounters (2018, with Yoichi Mine) and Handbook on Africa-Asia Relations (2018, with Pedro Amakasu and David Arase).
