The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung is an independent, private and non-profit organization headquartered in Germany. We facilitate international dialogue through our network of offices in more than 100 countries worldwide.What we offer: A full-time position of a Head of Economic Justice for our office in Johannesburg: to support progressive movements, civil society and trade union actors in their fight for transformative economic, social and climate policy at the national and international level, focusing on questions of inequality, inclusion and access to public goods, the reform of the global trade and international financial system and a just transition while incorporating feminist analysis. Tasks involve, but are not limited to: To analyse relevant national and international political processes; to actively engage in public and political debate on FES’s thematic areas; to represent FES in public forums and meetings nationally and internationally; to develop FES’s strategy in South Africa; to conceptualize, coordinate and implement projects and working lines; to oversee budgets within working lines and manage project funds; to contribute to the project documentation and reporting; to maintain, deepen and broaden FES’s partner relations and networks in South Africa; to liaise with other FES offices as well as FES-Head Office; to play an active part in FES’ regional and global projects.Requirements:
The offer includes: 40 hours, full time, flexible hours, home office possible • 54,000-62,000 ZAR gross salary per month, depending on the candidate’s experience • Medical aid subsidy of up to R 3,600/month • Medical aid gap cover • annual leave 21 days • max 12 days study leave per year • 15% provident fund • 13th cheque to be paid in November.
