Tax Wars film screening

The fight for Tax Justice for an equal future

The SA Tax Justice working group will collaborate with ICRICT to screen the Tax Wars film. The film will showcase multinational corporations and the wealthy taking advantage of gaps in the international tax system by engaging in tax abuse, tax avoidance and how a group of CSOs, and progressive economists contributed to ensuring that the international tax system addresses these gaps and ensures that they pay their fair share in taxes.

You can read more about the film here.

We invite you to watch the film and participate in the dialogue with guests and the participants.

Screening details

Join Dan Corder in conversation with Prof. Jayati Ghosh, Co-Chair of the Independent Commission for the Reform of International Corporate Taxation (ICRICT)

The People’s Summit seeks to build a new economy based on values of equality, care, dignity and respect for the planet rather than the one that currently exists, which priorities profits for the richest 1% above all else.

The purpose of the summit is to bring together civil society from South Africa and the world, particularly from across the Global South, to build ideas, consolidate power and demonstrate strategies that can be adopted to bring about transformation, not for this G20 summit, but over the medium to long term.
