Commemorating the UN International Dat for Women in Diplomacy

The Africa National Congress (ANC) and the Institute for Global Dialogue (IGD), in collaboration with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in South Africa are hosting a dialogue and exhibition event to celebrate and advance the role of women in diplomacy, with a special emphasis on gender equality, strategic engagement with the G20 agenda and building pathways for sustained leadership.

Date: 27 June 2025
Time: 09:00 - 16:00
Venue: Birchwood Hotel

The United Nations recognizes June 24 as the International Day for Women in Diplomacy, highlighting the critical role women play in shaping global policies, promoting peace, and enhancing inclusive governance. Despite progress, women remain underrepresented in diplomatic roles globally.

As the G20 continues to emerge as a major global platform addressing economic stability, development, and crisis response, the representation of women in these discussions is crucial to ensure inclusive outcomes.
